SPRING WATCH AUCTIONS IN GENEVA

We have gathered the 12 OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch that will be offered for sale during the traditional spring auctions in Geneva. There are 8 watches proposed by Antiquorum, 3 by Christie’s and 1 by Sotheby’s. The 12 models are displayed at the bottom of the article (photo credits: the three auctioneers, tap on each pic to see more details).

Five of them have attracted our attention, either because of their rarity or because of their condition.

OUR TOP 5

#1. Apollo XI 1980 White Gold (Christie’s, lot 67)

Our favorite.
This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase such a watch.
Only 20 numbered copies were produced in 1980, only for Germany.
In addition to its absolute rarity, this model is in great condition, with its original box and its limited series certificate.

#2. ST 105.003 tropical dial (Antiquorum, lot 376)

In really nice condition. The ST 105.003 aka “Ed White” is becoming more and more sought after by collectors.

#3. Jubilee 27 Chro C12 Skeleton (Antiquorum, lot 527)

With only 50 numbered watches manufactured, this is a very rare opportunity to acquire this yellow-gold skeleton Speedmaster, although very far from the original Moonwatch spirit.

#4. ST 145.022-69 Racing (Sotheby’s, lot 136)

We recently finalized a research that shows that a specific range of serial numbers corresponds to “Racing” models commercialized exclusively in Switzerland in 1970. Very rare and attractive.

#5. Apollo XI 1980 Yellow Gold (Christie’s, lot 66)

One of only 300 numbered watches in solid gold and for the first time in the Speedmaster history a transparent sapphire caseback. Very rare especially with its full set.
